2010 Northland Scholastic Surfing Series - Event 3 |

The 2010 Northland Scholastic Surfing Committee in partnership with Sport Northland are proud to present the third event of the 2010 Northland Scholastic Surfing Series next weekend (20th June 2010) at Mangawhai Heads. Competitors from schools across Northland will be hoping the good run of swell that the East Coast has experienced will continue next weekend. Competitors from as far north as Kaitaia College and as far south as Rodney College will be getting ready to do battle.
The Mangawhai Heads event will be the finale in a great series of competitions. The in form Moretti brothers (Mimiwhangata) have claimed back to back wins in event one and two, but might be overseas in Indonesia for Event Three leaving the door wide open for thier rivals in the Under 16 and Under 18 Divisions to claim series wins. Event Three will see the return of local Mangawhai surfer Louie Smith (Rodney College) after injury prevented him competing at Sandy Bay. Others to watch for will be Mathew McGregor (Kamo High School), Joe Palmer (Kerikeri High School) and Patxi Scott-Arietta (Kamo High School) among others.
The event is the final event of the series where results and points from the best two events will go towards selecting the team that will represent Northland in the National Scholastic Event in October this year.Categories include: Under 14 Boys / Girls, Under 16 Boys / Girls, Under 18 Boys / Girls, Bodyboard and Longboard.
Entries for the Mangawhai Heads event close on Wednesday 16th June 2010. Please note that there will be no entries taken on the day. Please see attached 2010 Entry Form for your perusal.
All competitors are to register on Sunday (20th June 2010) at 8.30am at Mangawhai Heads Surf Club.
