After more than 50
years of the surfing movie you would think there was nothing more to see but A Deeper Shade of Blue, by veteran
filmmaker Jack McCoy, challenges that idea with innovative camera techniques
and a unique narrative structure, to uncover and encapsulate the history and
culture of surfing like never before. Not a surf movie so much as a film about
the art's deepest roots.
It will appeal to surfers and non-surfers alike. Official selection: Maui,
Santa Barbara and Durban Film Festivals.
