Raglan Surfing School
has been listed by CNN as one of the Top 10 NZ Adventure Activities.
The article on the CNN GO website says that New Zealand is virtually synonymous
with vast tracks of unspoiled nature and a geography that provides everything
from ski slopes to big waves. They then list their picks of the ten best
natural outdoor adventures in New
Zealand. Learning to Surf with the Raglan Surfing
School was listed at #2.
For Raglan they suggest that you re-enact your own “Endless Summer” at New Zealand’s
classic surf town. They point out that Raglan’s Manu Bay
was featured in the iconic 1966 film, “Endless Summer” with good reason as it
is known for possessing the longest left-hand break in the world.
Raglan is described, as laid-back and surfer-friendly, as a Kiwi small town can
be, with a pretty main street and plenty of hearty fare, beer and local
accommodation on offer.
Charlie Young, director of the Raglan
Surfing School,
stated "This recognition just reinforces our belief that introducing
people to the sport of surfing can be a truly life changing experience. Add the
fact that Raglan is the coolest town with one best vibes on the planet it
deserves to be ranked high as one of must do on peoples travel
itineraries."
"This is a great win for Raglan" Young said.
To add to the momentum of great experiences on offer in Raglan the directors of
the Raglan Surfing
School have launched a new operation
on the magnificent Raglan
Harbour featuring the 15
meter "Wahinemoe" charter cruise vessel.
The "Wahinemoe" was custom built to offer groups of up to 70 persons
a chance to enjoy the sights of Raglan while being entertained by a state of
the art sound system.
The vessel is great venue for private parties, weddings and for a one of a kind
overnight "floatel" accommodation featuring on-board spa bath, fire
place and satellite TV.
