The Sandy Bay leg of the Hyundai Pro Longboard Tour saw the Trans-Tasman Challenge take place for the first time. With the event being sanctioned by ASP Australasia, over 20 Australians jumped the ditch to compete at the event. Held on the last day, the Aussies cleaned the Kiwis up in the tag team format event.
The Aussie team comprised of Josh Constable, Dane Pioli, Mitch Surman, Harley Ingleby, Matt Adlidge and Jarred Neal. The Kiwi team comprised of Dylan Barnfield, Phil Morris, Thomas Kibblewhite, Sam Bradford, Luke O'Neill and Ant McColl.
The final score was Australia on 88.20 with New Zealand on 70.60.
