After promising first round progressions from Jay Quinn and Billy Stairmand at the Billabong Azores Pro, the two had to sit out the whole waiting period for waves that did not eventuate. In the end Both Quinn and Stairmand received points for equal 65th and prize money for equal 49th. It was a bummer that they did not get to give it a crack for higher honours being a prime event but that is the way it goes.
The points did little to alter the ratings with Jay Quinn sitting in 110th, Ricahrd Christie in 138th and Billy Stairmand in 162nd.
The guys are now at the Sooruz Pro at Lacanau, France. The first day of the event was a lay day due to a flat ocean. They will be back in action tonight however contesting the first round. You can catch it live on the event website.
