The Bay of Plenty Regional Scholastic Champs was held in pumping waves at Tay Street this month. Surfers from throughout the region fought hard to make it into the defending champion Bay of Plenty team that will compete at the National Scholastic Surfing Championships. The event is being held at Gisborne from the 5-9 October.
The Bay of Plenty team is as follows:
Under 14: Jordan Griffin, Matt Hansen
Under 16: Mac Christie, Kahu Craig-Ranga, Peri Matenga, Levi Stewart
Under 18: JC Susan, Todd Doyle
Bodyboarding: Jamee Smith
Longboard: Hone Douglas
Under 14 Girls: Demi Hewitt
Under 16 Girls: Madison Atkins
