How did you start surfing: Moving to beach at young age, through nippers/surfclub and seeing surfing for first time and wanting to do it.
Years surfing competitively: 1975 - 1979 then again 2000 - 2006, 10 years all up.
Competition strategy: Surf to the conditions, surf to the criteria, take note of what judges are rewarding, stay mentally focused to get scores required to get through each heat
Career highlight: 2006 results - 3rd place open SNZ Hyundai Longboard Pro Tour, 1st place 0'40s SNZ Hyundai Longboard Pro Tour, 3rd place Grand Masters(0'45s) SNZ Hyundai Nationals.
