The
multiple award-winning charity Sustainable Coastlines has an all-star line-up in
store for their second annual fundraising ball on Saturday the 23rd of July.
The
event – fittingly to be hosted right on the water at the Hilton Auckland Hotel
– will raise much-needed funds to support the charity’s ongoing work to look
after the coastlines kiwis love.
New
Zealand’s top concert pianist – the world renowned Michael Houstoun – will stun
guests on the grand piano, while the talented Barnaby Weir (lead singer from The
Black Seeds and Fly My Pretties) will perform his critically acclaimed acoustic
set. Aotearoa’s top jazz ensemble, Nairobi Trio, will play the strings and Grand
Central Band, the popular local artists will top the evening off with a little
jazz and funk.
“The
artists, supporters and top-class venue have all come on board and we are
humbled to have people of such calibre supporting the cause” says Sam Judd, Co
Founder and Events Director of Sustainable Coastlines. “Guests will be treated
to a truly fantastic evening of world-class entertainment, all while providing
support for this important cause.”
All
funds raised will go towards running coastal clean-up, riparian planting and
educational projects with schools and volunteers around the country. This will
assist the charity to continue their incredible string of successes which – in
only two years of operation – have seen over 12,500 volunteers and hundreds of
schools directly involved in removing over 670,000 litres of rubbish from
coastlines.
