Surfing New Zealand is dependent upon the financial support it receives from its major sponsors. Surfing New Zealand's major sponsors are as follows:
Hyundai
Smokefree
SPARC
Surfing New Zealand must ensure that the interest of these sponsors are maintained and enhanced at all times. For this reason, for all Surfing New Zealand sanctioned events, it will be a term and condition of entry to the event that competitors do not do anything during the event that undermines or prejudices Surfing New Zealand’s sponsors. Surfing New Zealand will reserve the right either to refuse entry to any such events or to withdraw a competitor from such events if any competitor does act to undermine or prejudice the position of our official sponsors.
A number of surfers may be in a position to enter into personal endorsement arrangements with sponsors and these may include potential competitors of our major sponsors. Surfing New Zealand would not like to see competitors caught in the middle of a potential sponsorship conflict as this cannot benefit anyone. If you do wish to enter into any sponsorship arrangements with any competitors of Surfing New Zealand’s major sponsors, and you are unsure of the potential effect of this, we would be happy for you to contact us first to discuss this. In this way, we can all work together to try and prevent any sponsorship conflicts occurring.
Please see below for the revised terms and conditions outlined on SNZ sanctioned event entry forms. All competitors are required to sign their entry form before entering the water at any event. In practical terms, that means that competitors cannot ring the SNZ office on the closing day and expect to be entered into an event.
If you have any queries about this, please do not hesitate to contact us.
