Matt Hewitt will chase down an elusive top five ASP Australaisa Pro Junior Series ranking tomorrow at the final day of the Chill Pro Junior.
Hewitt has progressed through to the head to head quarterfinals after surfing through two heats today (Saturday). He will now face off against Dean Bowen in the quarterfinals tomorrow.
Hewitt is currently sitting in ninth place on the ratings needing to get into the top five to push on to the ASP World Pro Junior Series. Two surfers above Hewitt are Brazilian which means that Hewitt is effectively in seventh place. Four surfers above Hewitt on the ratings are still in the event so he will need a big effort to jump up into the top five.
Buck Woods and Alex Dive both placed thirteenth at the event while Johnny Hicks was eliminated in his first round match up.
You catch live scoring via the event website from around lunch time tomorrow.
