Hewitt Hammers First Heat In France |

Matt Hewitt has obliterated his first heat of the Sooruz Lacanau Pro in France to move through to the Round of 96. Hewitt posted an exceptional 15.57 points to win his first-up heat over Ricardo Ferreira (BRA), Tom Cloarec (FRA) and Edouard Delpero (FRA) in 1.0m – 1.5m waves.
Hewitt is one of two New Zealand surfers competing at the ASP 5-star event with
Billy Stairmand scheduled to hit the water overnight Thursday (NZT).
Hewitt will be first heat in the water tonight at approximately 6:00pm
conditions permitting. He will surf
against Marlon Lipke (DEU, Ruda Carvalho (BRA) and Miguel Blanco (PRT).
