The Australasian Pro Junior Series has chugged through four events already this year and Mountie Matt Hewitt is sitting pretty in 14th place amongst the elite of toughest ASP region on the planet. Matty posted a career best fifth place at the Hurley Pro Junior - the biggest event of the year. While his performance went under the radar somewhat with the World Junior Champs taking place here in New Zealand, Matty is still reaping the rewards of the good start to the year.
Like Billy Stairmand, Matt will contest his first WQS commencing tomorrow at Burleigh Heads. After this event he will be back to the Pro Juniors with another seven events remaining. The next event is the CHIKO Pro Junior at Merewether 4-7 March.
