Raglan Surf Academy School Champs

Once again the Raglan Area School’s Surfing Academy is presenting the annual New Zealand Schools Surfing Championships for 2012.

Every year the Champs are the biggest junior comp on the calendar. This is where the very best that New Zealand has to offer, throw everything on the line in search for the prestigious title. On top of this pressure the comp has a fun vibe that also encourages first time competitors to the famous ‘left handers’of Raglan. Fun is had by all.

The top surfers in New Zealand who are not in the ‘Academy’ also have an added excitement to their motivation as the ‘Surf Academy’ students are not permitted to enter themselves, but instead they are the judges, the contest directors, the marshals and of course the media relations.

Entry forms have just been sent all over the country throughout the top schools and all over the web. What we need now is you – we’re waiting the mass of entries that will pour into the draw. Be quick. Every year it fills quickly and Surfers are always disappointed when they don’t make the time frame.

The comp is set to be held August 7th & 8th at famous Manu Bay, with the backup days the 9th & 10th. Registration will be held on August 6th at 6:30pm in Raglan Area School hall. Costing only $30.

Surfers from any school can enter as long as there are no more than 10 entries from each school. The top four results from each school will be tallied up to determine who wins the ‘Teams NZ School’s Surfing Championships Trophy’. Whangamata currently hold the trophy after taking out the title in 2011 against some solid competition.

The divisions are proudly sponsored by Roxy (U18 Girls), Quiksilver (U18 Boys), Volcom (U16 Boys) and Reef (U14 Boys).

All finalists are guaranteed to win heaps of cool prizes and trophies.

There will also be loads of spot prizes and fun competition giveaways, once again sponsored by Backdoor. Cheers boys.

The event will start at 7.00am sharp both mornings so don’t be late. Entries are limited and will be taken on a first in, first served basis. So be quick and enter now before it’s too late.

For more information including entry confirmation and cancelation of running dates and further updates check out our Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/rassacomp2012or send us a message at rassacomp2012@gmail.com.
