International Surfing Associations

International Surfing Association

Surfing New Zealand are affiliated to the International Surfing Association (ISA) the world governing body of surfing.  The ISA are responsible for running the biennial World Surfing Games which are recognised by the International Olympic Committee.  They are also charged with running the annual World Junior Championships.  New Zealand sends teams to each of these events.  Click here to go to the ISA website.

The Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP)

The Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) has been governing pro surfing since 1976 and is responsible for running the World Championship Tour (WCT) and the World Qualifying Series (WQS).  The WCT is home to the best surfers in the world and is seen as the pinnacle of any surfers career.
