Surfing New Zealand held an ISA Level One Surf Instructors Course at Mount Maunganui over the weekend.  Twenty one people attended the course which was combined with a surfing specific first aid course on the Friday.

There is one further course being held prior to Christmas which will be staged at New Plymouth on the 8-9 December.

There is also an ISA Level Two Surf Instructors Course scheduled for the 17-18 November at Raglan.  The ISA Level 2 Surf Coaching Course has been designed to help interested coaches learn theory and training activities to train surfers of novice to intermediate surfing level (club level surfer). That is, coaches who want to help developing surfers improve their basic ocean awareness and teach or improve the foundation surfing manoeuvres of surfing.
