How did you start surfing: Me and my brother got a big old board for Christmas one year when I was 7 and started outside my house, ever since then I was hooked – no one older than me in my family surfed when I started so I taught myself and surfed every day I could.
Surfing competitively since: First comp was the Billabong grom series Mount – age 12 (2012)
Competition strategy: I like to get the first wave in a heat…Catch the best waves! Nah it changes depending on the conditions and location.

Ambitions: Become the best surfer I can be, make sure that I can surf my whole life, even when I’m really old.

Favourite surf break: Matakana Island for sure!
Other interests: running, fishing, mountain biking, adventure racing, hunting, spearfishing – anything outdoors really
Surfing heroes: Got to love Kelly Slater he’s the best ever but Mick Fanning is my favourite surfer because of his power. All the different Kiwi surfers over the years are super inspirational as well and incredible to watch / cheer on.
Life heroes: There’s so many incredible people in our world that inspire me every day, I can’t name just a few.
Favourite food: Seafood for sure
Favourite moves: Personally I love good rail surfing, big hacks and things look so powerful, that’s the best kind of surfing I reckon but airs are awesome as well the skies the limit!
