ISA (International Surfing Association) International Judging Seminar in conjunction with Surfing New Zealand and Surfing Australia:
Surfing New Zealand offer an in-depth fully accredited ISA International Judging Seminar. The seminar is great for all existing surfing officials, judges,competitive surfers and interested persons involved in surfing.
Top international judge Lee Ryan, facilitates the course passing on valuable information to participants who, once qualified, are in the position to make a future career in competitive surf judging both in New Zealand and internationally. Alternatively the course offers a great source of information for officials to take back to their local Boardriders clubs to pass on, furthering the advance and professionalism in surfing throughout New Zealand.
The seminar involves a one day intensive classroom learning experience, where participants are taken through all aspects of the ISA judging criteria:
- Competition rules
- Duties of a judge
- Interference rules
- General judging information.
On completion of the course you will be qualified as an accredited ISA Level 1 Judge. This will then open up the opportunity to be eligible to judge Surfing New Zealand and ISA sanctioned events.
The course costs $250
Courses will be advertised through local boardriders clubs, on the internet and via email.

Australasian Rule Books For Sale
Surfing New Zealand has the Australasian rule book available for sale. The rule books cover all the competition rules, heat formats and points systems to be used for sanctioned events. The rule books are a great resource for your local club or if you are a competitor, for your own personal use at events. The rule books can be purchased for $15 from Surfing New Zealand.
