Overview
Surfing New Zealand selects a New Zealand Junior Surfing Team annually. The team competes at the International Surfing Association (ISA) World Junior Championships held around the world annually.
The World Junior Surfing Championships is an IOC recognised event which attracts approximately 250 surfers from over 30 countries.
Surfers compete for both individual and team medals in both divisions.
The event includes a tag team event for the top eight nations from the previous event held.

Teams are selected using the Surfing New Zealand Selection Criteria.

New Zealand has been represented at ISA World Junior Championships since 2003 when the junior divisions were separated from the World Surfing Games.
