Paige Hareb has surfed to her second consecutive ninth placing at the Billabong Pro in Brazil overnight (Sunday) to hold her ranking of twelfth in the world.
Hareb placed third in the ‘power round’ losing to eventual winner Carissa Moore
(HAW) and Courtney Conlogue (USA). She
then faced a head to head match up with local favourite and world number five
Silvana Lima.
In front of a gigantic crowd of vocal
supporters Lima
took to Hareb scoring 14.33 to better Hareb’s 9.30.
The result leaves Hareb sitting in twelfth overall a spot she has occupied since
the New Zealand
leg where she secured her best result of the year – fifth. She has two further events to go before the
end of the tour – France (July)
and USA
(August).
