The latest ASP Australasian Pro Junior ratings are out after the Merewether event. The success of Buck and Alex placing fifth has lifted them up the ratings but it is Matt Hewitt that still leads the Kiwi boys after a total of five events. Matt and Buck are over in Tahiti for the Ranigroa Pro Junior. The swell is expected to get massive for the event so we might see the boys take a quick trip to Teahupoo on any lay day they have. The field of surfers is pretty small so expect Matt and Buck to jump up the ratings further.
Airini also sprung to life at the last event with a great win over Laura Enever. However it is her younger sister Sarah that leads the ratings after the first two events.
After the event in Tahiti the next event is the Geared Pro Junior for both boys and girls. That will take place at Cronulla on the 3-7 April before the tour heads to New Zealand for the next two events.
