Richard Christie and Billy Stairmand continued their roll in Europe winning their heats at the San Miguel Pro overnight. The 6 star event, held at Zaraurtz ran through the round of 144 in small 1-2ft conditions. Billy posted 14.90 in his heat - the sixth highest heat score of the day with Ricardo scoring 14.30 just behind him. The two surfers will be out in their round of 96 heats tonight (Friday 7pm NZ time) hoping to advance and pick up some more world ranking points and prize money. Check out the action here.
Jay Quinn placed third in a wave starved heat to be eliminated from the event.
Going into the San Miguel Pro, Billy was ranked 88th with Ricardo 89th and Jay 92nd. You can check out the full ratings here.
