Richard Christie and Jay Quinn have pushed their way through to the Round of 24 at the Billabong Azores Pro. The surf has been pumping for the event as witnessed with the surfing on the final day of the girls division.
Ricardo has been on fire since his two event hiatus when he returned back to New Zealand and
last night was no different as he strolled through his heat in first place with
a 14.66 point heat total. It wasn’t
quite the 18.17 point heat total he amassed in Round 1 but still mighty
impressive.
Jay Quinn has been in a similar vien of form progressing through both of his
heats, in the second round placing second scoring 11.93 behind Alain Riou (PYF).
The two Kiwi’s now meet in a head to head
battle in Round 3 with the match up likely to take place tonight (Friday 30th
September). Winner goes through to the
none elimination round and a minimum 2400 points to bump them up the
ratings. The loser will be assigned to a
supporters roll for the remainder of the event.
