The 2010 Schnappa Rock Polar Bear Classic went off over the weekend (7th & 8th August) lousy weather on Saturday, 1 metre howling on shore and rain. Managed to get through round one by 2:30 called it quits until Sunday. Exact opposite weather-wise off shore, blue skies and still a metre of surf dropping through out the day. Great weekend ending in prize giving at Schnappa Rock in Tutukaka.
Open winner was Tane Wallis of Piha who beat JC Susan, 2nd, Tom Kibblewhite,3rd and Joe Moretti. Joe won the under 18’s with Tane 2nd and Patxi Scott- Arrietta 3rd and Manu Scott –Arrietta 4th.
Mischa Davis took out the women’s beating, in order, Heather Easterbrook , Renee Lee & Jess Costello.
Tom Kibblewhite won the longboard, Billy Hale the over 40’s, John Gisby the over 50’s & Mal Egginton the over 60’s.
