If you are interested in learning how to judge surfing or if you simply want to improve your surfing then the ISA Judging Course is for you. Surfing New Zealand will be holding a judging course this Sunday (9th September) at New Plymouth.
The course breaks down how to score a wave as well as detailing interference rules and general judging information.
Top international judge Lee Ryan, facilitates the course passing on valuable information to participants who, once qualified, are in the position to make a future career in competitive surf judging both in New Zealand and internationally. Alternatively the course offers a great source of information for officials to take back to their local Boardriders clubs to pass on, furthering the advance and professionalism in surfing throughout New Zealand.
On completion of the course you will be qualified as an accredited ISA Level 1 Judge. This will then open up the opportunity to be eligible to judge Surfing New Zealand and ISA sanctioned events.
The course costs $250 for adults and $150 for youth (Under 18) and includes all manuals, morning tea and lunch and 12 months ISA Judges registration.
For more information contact SNZ Development Manager Lee Ryan lee.ryan@surfingnz.co.nz.
