Two
thousand and eleven is looking bright for the International Surfing
Association, the World Governing Authority for Surfing recognized by the IOC.
The year started off with the successful ISA
Tandem Surfing World Titles in January and was followed by the ISA 2011 World Kneeboard Tittles in
March. Keep your eyes peeled because there is a lot more to come!
In less than three weeks, from May 21 to 29, the Quiksilver ISA World Junior Surfing Championship will
take place at the perfect waves of Señoritas and Caballeros. The best under-18
surfers from around the world will compete in Peru for team and individual
trophies and medals.
One month later, the greatest surfers in the world will gather this year in Panama for the Billabong ISA World Surfing Games.
The event will be held at perfect Playa Venao barrels, from June 25 until July
3.
ISA’s 2011 calendar of events will culminate with another mind-blowing ISA World Masters Surfing Championship,
set to take place at the epic waves of Punta
Roca, El Salvador,
from October 16 to 23.
To top it all off, the World Bodyboard
Championship and Stand Up
Paddle (SUP) World Championship are set to debut in 2011.
With events all over the world covering every age range and surfing discipline,
the year ahead for the ISA looks bright.
