Wahine on Waves is back for the 2013.
The summer sessions are fun surf days for Gissy girls. There are three separate days of fun with all
surfers meeting up at Midway Beach in town at 8:30am before a call on the day’s
location is made. At the first session
on the 2nd November, everyone hits the water from 9:00am before spot
prizes and a BBQ take place on the beach around midday. The second and third sessions on the 13th
of February and 13th of March, the action takes place from 4:30pm
when everyone meets up before hitting the waves at 5:00pm with a BBQ and spot
prizes at 7:30pm.
Registration can be completed at Blitz Surf Shop. Spaces at each session are limited so everyone
needs to pre register.
There are mini workshops where you can surf tipos from local rippers. The cost is $5 payable on the day of each
session. The sessions are open to all
ages and provide the perfect opportunity for girls to give surfing a go.
