In what is the first instalment of a Pacific Media led initiative, you will notice NZ Surf mag hasn't changed in terms
of look and as our new publishers quote in this issue,
" If it ain't broke, don't fix it!".
What we do have for you, our readers, is a mag chocka with some of the craziest waves you
will ever see in our fair land. The magazine has moved with the times and
is now fully digital as well, with downloads available on I-pad, I-phone and
PC.
Along with the digital versions we have also launched a new look website full of the latest
news, screen-saver downloads and sessions that don't make the glossy pages.
In this issue we feature.
Unbelieva-BILL- On a day comparable
to a NZ golfer beating Tiger Woods, or Kirk Penny dunking on Kobe Bryant, Raglan's Billy Stairmand beats Kelly Slater
at the Drug Aware Margaret River Masters.
Big Brother- After laying our eyes on this wave seven years ago, finally
all the elements combine and a group of readied lads tame NZ's answer to
Pipeline.
The Forbidden Coast- A group of expert big wave
surfers chase Cyclone Atu's swell and find the best wave they have ever
laid their eyes on in NZ only to be denied of a chance to surf it. We investigate why more and more of our coastline
is becoming off limits to those who have grown up enjoying the freedom of
access. Or did we actually ever have access at all?
O'Neill Cold Water Classic- The richest contest in NZ history scores
some Gizzy gold.
The 65th Primo Roady- A roady with no plan, a bunch of internationals
over for the O'Neill CWC go for a quiet drive and find a dredging river bar in
the most scenic of settings.
Atu's Run- Cyclone Atu breathes life into several wave starved
set-ups. Novelty waves rise from the grave and are destroyed by a lucky few in
the right place at the right time.
Plus the usual features of Rising
Grom, Brofile, Trigger finger sequences and more!
